Film Screening and ICON Ethnography Group AGM: "Harvesting Traditional Knowledge"

Tuesday 9th April 2019, 6.45pm - 9pm

Farringdon Room, St Bride's Foundation, London, UK, EC4Y 8EQ

The ICON Ethnography group are delighted to screen the documentary “Harvesting Traditional Knowledge”; a two-way learning project created in 2013-2014 by the Association of Northern, Kimberley and Arnhem Aboriginal Artists (ANKAAA) alongside Aboriginal Community Art Centres and the Centre for Cultural Material Conservation, University of Melbourne.

Produced by Indigenous film crew, Mulka Projects, this documentary follows senior knowledge holders from Aboriginal communities and museum conservators from Australian cultural institutions, as they share the traditional harvesting of bark and ochre, the production of boomerangs and spears and the conservation of Aboriginal artefacts.

After the film we will hold our AGM to bring our members up to speed with committee changes and our plans for the coming year. Please join us for the film and stay for the AGM for a chance to catch up with ICON Ethnography Members.

Tickets:
£10 for member
£12 for non-members
