JOB TITLE: Deputy Editor: Journal of Museum Ethnography
REPORTS TO: Editor of the Journal of Museum Ethnography
£1300 per annum.
Job Purpose
To provide editorial support for the academic journal Journal of Museum Ethnography, working closely with the Editor to edit articles and formatting the journal within an established house style and format ready for printing.
Main Responsibilities
Formatting and proofreading articles before they are sent to the publisher, and checking the final publisher proof
Suggesting articles to commission.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential:
- Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent) OR School education to Standard Grade or equivalent
Desirable:
- An undergraduate degree in Anthropology, Museum Studies, Archaeology or a relevant Area Studies.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Experience of dealing with a large cross section of people, particularly scholars
- Competent communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent IT and general keyboard skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Word and Excel
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English
- Good numeracy skills
- Ability to work within and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- Academic knowledge in the fields of Anthropology, Museum Studies, Archaeology or a relevant Area Studies.
- Previous experience with academic publishing
